COVID-19 Considerations
• As of now, Colombia does not have specific COVID-19 insurance requirements for tourists. However, it’s wise to check for the latest updates, as policies can change.
Further Recommendations
• Travel Insurance: It should include medical coverage, emergency evacuation, and repatriation of remains. Look for plans that cover at least $50,000 in medical expenses.
• Colombian Healthcare: While the quality of healthcare in Colombia is high and relatively affordable, costs for emergencies or hospitalization can still add up for uninsured foreigners.
• Many major cities in Colombia (e.g., Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena) have excellent private healthcare facilities, but you’ll need insurance or funds to access them.
• Check with your home country’s embassy or consulate in Colombia for updated entry requirements and health-related recommendations.
